Genasys Inc. announced on November 7, 2024, a four-year contract with Los Angeles County (LA County) for Genasys ALERT mass notification software services. This decision follows LA County's successful use of Genasys EVAC emergency evacuation management services since 2022. The new agreement replaces the county's previous mass notification provider.
The integration of ALERT with the existing EVAC system aims to unify and enhance LA County’s emergency response planning, mass notification, and evacuation management. This comprehensive solution will serve the county's 9.8 million residents and 50 million annual visitors, particularly during wildfires and other disasters.
Genasys ALERT provides geo-targeted emergency warnings and multi-channel, multi-language mass notifications, including mobile push, IPAWS, text messages, emails, and integration with indoor/outdoor speaker systems. This expanded deployment of the Genasys Protect platform is designed to streamline disaster response and communication, with the potential to save lives.
