Group 1 Automotive Achieves Record Revenues and Gross Profit in Second Quarter 2025

Group 1 Automotive, Inc. reported record revenues of $5.7 billion and record gross profit of $936 million for the second quarter of 2025. Total revenues increased by 21% year-over-year, while gross profit saw a 20% increase.

The company posted net income of $140.5 million, with earnings per share of $10.82. Adjusted net income from continuing operations improved by 12.4%, and adjusted EPS was up 17.5% compared to the prior year.

The U.S. segment's total revenues grew by 6.5%, driven by a 14.3% increase in same-store gross profit for aftersales. The U.K. segment's total revenues surged by 96.9%, primarily due to the Inchcape acquisition, despite an increase in SG&A as a percentage of gross profit to 84.3% due to specific market factors.

As of June 30, 2025, Group 1 maintained a strong liquidity position of $1.11 billion and a total adjusted leverage ratio of 2.72x, well within its covenant requirements. In the first half of 2025, the company acquired seven dealerships for $322.2 million and repurchased 3% of its shares for $167.3 million, while also increasing its 2025 annual dividend rate to $2.00 per share.
