Green Plains Inc. announced the successful ongoing production of dextrose syrups at the world’s first commercial deployment of Clean Sugar Technology (CST) in Shenandoah, Iowa. This patented system, developed by Fluid Quip Technologies, is designed to produce dextrose and glucose corn syrups with up to a 40% lower carbon intensity compared to existing alternatives.

The low carbon-intensity ingredients produced by the CST facility are intended for use in renewable chemicals, bio-based materials, and food and beverage formulations. Green Plains is currently engaged in advanced negotiations and final product approvals with multiple off-take partners, indicating strong customer interest that exceeds the current production capacity.

Commercial quantities of these dextrose and glucose corn syrups are expected to begin bulk shipments to end-use customers in the coming weeks. The facility has already achieved third-party certification for current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), with FSSC 22000 certification anticipated to be completed in the next quarter, further validating its product quality and safety.
