Globalstar, Inc. announced that it has signed a launch services agreement with SpaceX for a Falcon 9 launch. This agreement is for the next set of satellites, which are being constructed by Macdonald, Dettwiler and Associates Corporation (MDA) under a 2022 procurement agreement.
These satellites are intended to provide continuous satellite services in combination with Globalstar's existing second-generation satellites. The launch is expected to take place next year, following an initial launch planned for this year.
Dr. Paul Jacobs, Globalstar CEO, stated that this agreement represents another important milestone in the company's construction and launch plan. These satellites, authorized by the FCC to operate under Globalstar’s HIBLEO-4 filing for a renewed 15-year term, will enhance the ability to provide high-quality satellite services long-term.
