Tailrow Insurance Exchange, an HCI Group-sponsored reciprocal insurer, officially commenced operations by successfully assuming just under 14,000 policies from Citizens Property Insurance Corporation. These policies represent approximately $35 million of in-force premium, marking a significant entry into the personal residential lines market in Florida.
Tailrow was approved for 20,000 policies and made approximately 18,000 offers, achieving a 76% acceptance rate from policyholders. This high adoption rate highlights the effectiveness of HCI's technology and management expertise in identifying attractive policies.
Paresh Patel, HCI’s Chairman and CEO, emphasized that the technology and management expertise enabled the identification of suitable policies and a strong adoption rate. The assumption of these policies became effective as of February 18, 2025, expanding HCI's footprint in the Florida insurance landscape.
