The Home Depot Foundation announced on October 11, 2024, a commitment of up to $3 million to support immediate disaster relief in communities impacted by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. This additional funding brings the total amount committed to relief efforts this disaster season to more than $9 million.
The funds will support nonprofit partners such as Convoy of Hope, Operation Blessing, World Central Kitchen, and Team Rubicon in assessing damage, delivering relief supplies and meals, and initiating cleanup operations. These efforts will continue recovery for Hurricane Helene and deploy additional resources to Florida for Hurricane Milton.
Home Depot's Disaster Response Command Center was activated, sending over 1,000 truckloads of essential storm prep supplies to affected areas. Team Depot, the company's associate volunteer force, packed more than 6,500 disaster relief kits for distribution, demonstrating a rapid and extensive operational response to community needs.
