BUZZ High Performance Computing, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HIVE Digital Technologies, announced the acquisition of a 7.2-megawatt data center in Toronto. This strategic purchase marks a significant step in expanding HIVE's high-performance computing (HPC) and AI capabilities in Canada.
The newly acquired facility is slated to become BUZZ HPC’s first liquid-cooled Tier 3 data center, specifically designed to support advanced AI training and cloud workloads. This infrastructure is crucial for handling the intensive computational demands of modern artificial intelligence applications.
The acquisition is projected to increase HIVE's HPC footprint by 3.5 times, adding 5.5 megawatts of IT load once the facility is converted to liquid cooling. Populating this expanded capacity with NVIDIA H200 GPUs could add approximately $80 million to the annual recurring revenue (ARR) for the HPC segment.
