Hecla Mining Company released its 2024 Sustainability Report, detailing the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. The report highlights Hecla's ongoing commitment to responsible mining practices and environmental stewardship.
The report was prepared with reference to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and benchmarked against the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Metals and Mining standards and relevant aspects of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Hecla also reported against the Mining Association of Canada’s Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) framework for its Casa Berardi mine.
CEO Rob Krcmarov stated that responsible mining goes hand-in-hand with financial and operational success, noting that the company achieved its second-highest silver production in 2024 while maintaining high environmental standards.
