Honeywell International announced a new AI‑enabled retail platform that blends Google Cloud’s Gemini and Vertex AI with Honeywell’s Mobility Edge hardware, including the CS32 Personal Shopper and CT70 devices, and integrates with the company’s Forge platform to connect digital data with the physical store environment.
The solution delivers real‑time product guidance, dynamic recommendations, and substitution suggestions for out‑of‑stock items, while allowing retailers to link loyalty accounts for personalized shopping experiences based on purchase history and preferences.
Honeywell’s launch is part of a broader strategy to shift toward high‑growth AI and digital solutions, aligning with the company’s portfolio reshaping and focus on secular growth trends in technology‑enabled retail.
The platform will be available to customers in February 2026, offering retailers a turnkey AI solution that requires no in‑house AI expertise and positions Honeywell to capture a share of the expanding retail AI market.
David Barker, president of Honeywell Productivity Solutions and Services, said the Smart Shopping Platform “addresses pain points and creates a better experience for shoppers, while retailers benefit from an out‑of‑the‑box AI solution that can be implemented without maintaining a team of AI experts.” Jose Gomes, vice president of Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods at Google Cloud, added that the partnership “integrates AI with specialized hardware to streamline operations inside the retail store and guide consumers through an efficient and delightful shopping journey, helping retailers increase basket size and build deeper customer loyalty.”
