Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. announced its plans to meet the domestic manufacturing requirements of the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act for key parts of its product lineup. This commitment focuses on high-capacity models, including electric options, that are relevant to infrastructure projects subject to BABA regulations.

The company's strategy involves expanding its existing American manufacturing capabilities and strategically broadening sourcing agreements to fulfill local material requirements. Additionally, Hyster-Yale plans to further develop electric power options for its high-capacity equipment to align with the Act's mandates.

The BABA Act, enacted to boost domestic manufacturing and economic growth, requires federal funds allocated to infrastructure projects to prioritize U.S.-produced materials. Hyster-Yale operates an extensive U.S. footprint, including three manufacturing facilities, which it intends to leverage to deliver BABA-compliant material handling solutions.
