Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. released its April 2025 First Look report on May 23, 2025, detailing U.S. mortgage performance statistics. The report indicated that foreclosure activity is edging higher, particularly for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) mortgages following the recent moratorium expiration. The total U.S. loan delinquency rate, for loans 30 or more days past due but not in foreclosure, was 3.22%, representing a 4.10% increase year-over-year. Total U.S. foreclosure starts were 29,000, up 12.96% year-over-year. These figures suggest a continued trend of increasing risk in the mortgage market. This sustained rise in delinquencies and foreclosure starts could impact the demand for and performance of ICE's mortgage technology solutions, especially in the servicing sector.
