On April 23, iQIYI unveiled over 400 new titles and a series of strategic initiatives at its 2025 iQIYI World Conference in Beijing. CEO Yu Gong stated that 2025 is a turning point for the industry, with iQIYI adapting by prioritizing high-quality storytelling and expanding mini-drama formats as a new growth engine beyond traditional long-form content. The new content slate for 2025-2026 spans drama series, mini- and short-dramas, variety shows, films, documentaries, animation, and sports.
The company's long-form strategy will be anchored by five signature drama brands, including 'Laugh On,' 'Light On,' and 'Love On' Theaters, each dedicated to serialized dramas with fewer episodes. On the short-form front, iQIYI is doubling down on its premium mini-drama strategy with five dedicated initiatives, such as the 'Thousand Mini-Dramas Initiative' and 'Hundred Hong Kong Mini-Dramas Initiative,' alongside a flagship 'Major Short-Drama Initiative' for short-dramas.
iQIYI is also advancing its IP monetization strategy across digital and physical channels, having launched the trial operation of its content-driven e-commerce platform. This platform integrates its rich IP portfolio, livestreaming, and short-form videos, targeting paid subscribers as core users. The company also announced two flagship iQIYI LAND theme parks in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, and Kaifeng, Henan province, extending premium IPs into immersive offline experiences.
AI integration is a key focus, with the introduction of iJump, a feature enabling users to jump between scenes, which has recorded over 150 million user interactions within 120 days since its launch on April 21, 2024. iQIYI also featured Taodou, its intelligent assistant, and Taodou World, which allows real-time conversations with nearly 1,000 virtual characters. On the production side, AI-powered tools like Screenplay Workshop and the QClip production suite streamline workflows and enhance creative output.
