Joby Aviation, Inc. today announced a first-of-its-kind demonstration of its autonomous flight technology as part of the Resolute Force Pacific (REFORPAC), a Department-Level Exercise led by Pacific Air Forces (PACAF). Joby conducted a successful demonstration and validation of its Superpilot™ autonomous flight technology over the Pacific Ocean and Hawaii.
The Superpilot technology, integrated into a Cessna aircraft, logged more than 7,000 miles of autonomous operations across over 40 flight hours. This exercise marks a significant step in Joby's strategy to expand its dual-use technologies, serving both civilian and military markets.
This demonstration highlights Joby's advanced capabilities in autonomous flight, which can expand government contract opportunities and enhance safety features in civil products through future block upgrades. It reinforces the company's commitment to delivering urgently-required innovation for defense needs.
