KBR has secured a contract to supply its PureM SM green methanol technology to Fikrat Al‑Tadweer for a biomethanol plant in Saudi Arabia, converting landfill gas into clean fuels.

The project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of reducing landfill gas emissions and expanding renewable fuel production. Fikrat Al‑Tadweer, a leading waste‑to‑energy operator in the Kingdom, brings extensive experience in gas collection and conversion, positioning the plant to leverage local feedstock availability.

The contract expands KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions segment into the Middle East, adding a long‑term revenue stream. PureM SM’s flexibility—capable of using landfill gas, biogas, syngas, hydrogen, or CO₂—provides a competitive advantage in a region with diverse feedstock options.

Management highlighted the win as evidence of KBR’s strategy to grow high‑margin sustainable technology businesses and to unlock value through a planned spin‑off of its Mission Technology Solutions segment. The deal complements recent Saudi Aramco contracts and a green ammonia project announced the day before.

While the financial terms of the contract are not disclosed, the award is considered material for KBR, reinforcing its competitive moat in low‑carbon solutions and supporting the company’s transition to a technology‑centric portfolio.
