KBR secured a detailed engineering contract for the Bul Hanine oil and gas field in Qatar, part of QatarEnergy’s EPIC project. The contract assigns KBR to deliver detailed design and engineering services for the offshore field located approximately 120 kilometers east of Doha.
The Bul Hanine field, discovered in 1970 and operating since 1972, is one of Qatar’s largest offshore assets. The redevelopment aims to extend the field’s production life by 25 years, increase its capacity, and integrate advanced technologies to maximize recovery.
KBR’s award underscores its expertise in large‑scale offshore engineering and its focus on the Middle East and the Global South. The company’s Mission Technology Solutions and Sustainable Technology Solutions segments have both benefited from the project, with the latter expected to see a boost in its 2025 adjusted EBITDA margin.
In Q3 2025, KBR reported revenues of $1.9 billion and an adjusted EPS of $1.02, beating analyst expectations. The company’s full‑year 2025 guidance remains unchanged, with revenues projected at $7.5 billion and adjusted EBITDA at $800 million.
The Bul Hanine contract is part of QatarEnergy’s broader strategy to enhance its offshore production capacity. KBR’s role will involve detailed engineering for the field’s redevelopment packages, complementing work by competitors such as China Offshore Oil Engineering Company.
