Keysight Technologies announced the launch of the PNT Xe GNSS simulation platform, a product that builds on the capabilities of its recently acquired Spirent Communications. The acquisition, completed on October 17, 2025 after a regulatory review that extended the closing date to October 27, added Spirent’s satellite‑emulation expertise to Keysight’s test‑equipment portfolio, positioning the company to serve both defense and commercial customers in the growing Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) market.

PNT Xe is a compact, rack‑ or desk‑mounted simulator that supports all global navigation satellite system constellations and frequencies, including the U.S. military AES M‑Code. The platform offers a user‑friendly interface that enables rapid scenario creation and seamless transition from laboratory to field environments, allowing developers to validate performance, reliability, and resilience at every stage of the product lifecycle.

The launch is strategically significant because accurate GNSS testing is becoming foundational to 6G networks, autonomous vehicles, and satellite‑enabled applications. By making high‑performance simulation more accessible, Keysight can capture a broader share of the PNT market and accelerate the adoption of its end‑to‑end test solutions. The platform also positions the company to compete more effectively against rivals such as Rohde & Schwarz, Hexagon, and VIAVI Solutions, who also offer GNSS simulators.

Marie Hattar, Chief Marketing Officer of Keysight, said, "As positioning and timing become foundational to technologies like 6G, defense systems, and autonomous vehicles, access to accurate, high‑performance simulation becomes critical. PNT Xe makes that capability available to more innovators than ever, ensuring they can validate performance, reliability, and resilience at every stage of development." Rob VanBrunt, CEO of Spirent Federal Systems, added, "PNT Xe is a game‑changer for defense customers. Its ease of use will be key to deploying new PNT technology faster, enabling software engineers to test minor code changes right at their desks, with immediate feedback for agile continuous integration."

The introduction of PNT Xe follows Spirent’s earlier launch of the PNT X system in April 2024, which targeted high‑end users. The new Xe version is designed as an entry‑level, cost‑effective alternative that broadens the customer base while maintaining the performance standards that Keysight’s defense and commercial customers expect.

Overall, the PNT Xe launch underscores Keysight’s commitment to expanding its PNT capabilities in the wake of the Spirent acquisition, and it signals a strategic push to dominate the simulation market for next‑generation positioning technologies.
