Keysight Technologies today introduced a new line of high‑power automated test equipment (ATE) power supplies and electronic loads that combine regenerative capability, high density, and intelligent automation. The RP5900 Series regenerative DC power supplies, the EL4900 Series regenerative DC electronic loads, and the DP5700 Series system DC power supplies cover a power range from 1.5 kW to 12 kW and can deliver up to 6 kW in a single rack unit or 12 kW in two rack units, giving customers 2‑3 times more channels in the same footprint.

The new portfolio is engineered for energy‑efficient testing. Regenerative operation returns excess energy to the grid, while the Automated Power Suite software, which runs on a removable SD card, provides secure, NIST‑compliant data logging and remote control. The design also supports bi‑directional power flow, allowing devices under test to be charged and discharged during validation cycles, a feature that reduces test time and improves measurement accuracy.

By expanding its power‑test offerings, Keysight is positioning itself in the semiconductor, automotive, and energy markets where power‑validation demands are growing fastest. The high‑density, regenerative solutions address the need for compact, low‑energy test rigs in electric‑vehicle battery packs, power‑semiconductor modules, and renewable‑energy inverters, helping customers lower rack space, reduce operating costs, and meet sustainability goals.

The launch follows a strong Q3 2025 earnings report in which Keysight reported revenue of $1.352 billion, up 11 % year‑over‑year, and a non‑GAAP EPS of $1.72, beating consensus by $0.24. Management attributed the beat to disciplined cost management and a favorable mix of high‑margin commercial contracts, while the revenue lift was driven by robust demand in the communications and industrial solutions segments. In response, the company raised its full‑year revenue guidance to the higher end of its 5 %–7 % target range and projected Q4 revenue of $1.37 billion to $1.39 billion, signaling confidence in continued demand.

Carol Leh, Vice President of Keysight’s Electronic Industrial Solutions Group Center of Excellence, said the new portfolio delivers the density, automation, and sustainability that engineers need to accelerate validation and reduce risk. She added that the regenerative capability and secure software platform enable customers to achieve faster time‑to‑market for next‑generation power devices.

The product launch is part of a broader strategy that includes recent acquisitions such as Spirent Communications and the Optical Solutions Group from Synopsys, which broaden Keysight’s design‑engineering and test‑solution footprint. The company also noted that tariff changes announced in August 2025 could add an estimated $75 million in annual cost impact, but it is taking steps to mitigate those effects. Competitors such as Rohde & Schwarz are also expanding their power‑electronics test offerings, but Keysight’s focus on regenerative technology and secure, NIST‑compliant software gives it a distinct advantage in the high‑growth markets.
