KKR has arranged a $300 million credit facility for renewable‑energy developer Ecoplexus, providing development capital and a letter of credit that will support the company’s plan to advance more than 13 GW of solar and storage projects across the United States.

The facility, closed on Monday, December 1 2025, is part of KKR’s asset‑based finance strategy and underscores the firm’s continued focus on clean‑energy infrastructure. Ecoplexus will use the funding to accelerate construction‑ready projects and to secure additional project finance, potentially supporting over $2.5 billion in future project financing.

"This financing marks an important milestone for our business and gives us the certainty and scale required to advance several gigawatts of projects to start of construction in the near term," said John Gorman, CEO of Ecoplexus. The capital will also enable the company to pursue strategic acquisitions and expand its U.S. portfolio.

KKR’s senior vice president of finance, Ed Campaniello, noted that the cost‑effective capital solution strengthens Ecoplexus’s balance sheet and positions the developer to capture growth in the U.S. solar and storage market, which is driven by federal incentives and corporate renewable‑energy procurement.

"We’re pleased to finance Ecoplexus and its high‑quality, large‑scale portfolio of development assets through our asset‑based finance strategy," said Sam Mencoff, director at KKR. He added that Ecoplexus has demonstrated analytical sophistication, discipline, and scale, and that the firm will support the company as it expands its solar and storage portfolio in the next phase of growth.

The transaction reflects a broader trend of increasing investment in renewable‑energy infrastructure, as utilities and corporations seek to meet decarbonization targets. KKR’s involvement signals confidence in Ecoplexus’s project pipeline and the continued attractiveness of U.S. solar and storage assets to institutional investors.
