Luminar announced on March 5, 2025, that its LiDAR technology will be equipped in the new Volvo ES90, a fully electric model slated for production in 2025. This marks the second Volvo car model to feature Luminar's technology, following the successful launch of the Volvo EX90 SUV.
The Volvo ES90 will utilize Luminar's Iris LiDAR, seamlessly integrated into the roofline of the vehicle, as part of the SPA2 platform.
