Centrus Energy announced today that its subsidiary, American Centrifuge Operating, LLC (ACO), has secured an award from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for High-Assay, Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU) deconversion services. This award supports the deployment of technology and equipment to transform HALEU from uranium hexafluoride (UF6) to uranium oxide and/or uranium metal forms, a vital step in the nuclear fuel production process.

ACO is one of six companies selected for this deconversion contract, which carries a minimum value of $2 million and a maximum aggregate value of $800 million for all awardees. The ultimate financial impact for Centrus will depend on specific task orders issued by the DOE.

This award is a critical component in establishing an advanced nuclear fuel supply chain for next-generation reactors and expands the capabilities of Centrus's Ohio facility. As the sole U.S.-owned, U.S.-technology enrichment company, Centrus aims to lead the restoration of America's nuclear fuel leadership with American technology and workforce.
