Pac-12 Enterprises announced a partnership with Lumen Technologies to reinvent live sports broadcasting, utilizing Lumen’s Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) technology. This collaboration will debut with Pac-12 football, starting with Washington State’s home-opener on August 30.
Using Lumen NaaS, Pac-12 Enterprises can scale bandwidth on demand in minutes, significantly lower production costs, and deliver seamless, high-quality broadcasts with fewer on-site resources. This tech-forward approach will support hundreds of broadcasts annually and positions Pac-12 Enterprises to expand its innovative remote production model.
Dave Ward, Lumen's chief technology and product officer, highlighted that live sports demand near-zero delay and rock-solid reliability, which Lumen's NaaS platform provides. This partnership demonstrates the platform's ability to deliver the speed, reliability, and control required for modern productions, enhancing the fan experience.
