Lifezone Metals Limited announced the detailed results from the Initial Assessment for its flagship Kabanga Nickel Project in northwest Tanzania. The assessment envisions a 22-year mine plan, processing almost 70 million tonnes of ore.
The ore is projected to grade 1.93% nickel, 0.26% copper, and 0.14% cobalt, with expected metallurgical recoveries of 87.3% for nickel, 95.7% for copper, and 89.6% for cobalt. The integrated refinery is projected to produce 50,000 tonnes of contained nickel, 7,000 tonnes of copper cathode, and 4,000 tonnes of cobalt contained in cobalt sulphate per annum.
The Initial Assessment also identified significant exploration targets within the Special Mining License, representing an additional 17.5 to 23.5 million tonnes of potential resources. This indicates substantial upside for the project's mine life and overall resource base.
