Giant Eagle, a major food retailer and distributor, has successfully transitioned three of its distribution centers from an on-premise Manhattan WMS to Manhattan Active® Warehouse Management (WM). The company plans to shift its remaining four DCs to the cloud-native system by August 2025. This move aims to provide continuous access to the latest innovations in distribution and enhance operational scalability.
The implementation process for each distribution center has been smooth, with operations returning to prior production levels within days of going live. Giant Eagle also recently adopted Manhattan Active Transportation Management (TM) to extend visibility and control to its logistics operations. Combining Manhattan Active WM with Manhattan Active TM will optimize distribution, transportation, labor, and automation within a single, cloud-native application.
This significant customer migration to Manhattan Active WM, especially from an existing Manhattan on-premise solution, demonstrates the success of Manhattan's cloud-first strategy and the value proposition of its cloud-native platform. The planned rollout across all DCs and the adoption of Manhattan Active TM indicate a deepening customer relationship and potential for increased recurring revenue.
