Marriott International opened its 700th property in the Asia Pacific region (excluding China) on December 1, 2025, when the Legacy Mekong, Can Tho Autograph Collection began operations in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta.
The milestone underscores Marriott’s aggressive expansion strategy in high‑growth markets. By adding a 700th property, the company demonstrates its ability to scale operations while maintaining brand standards across a diverse portfolio of 27 brands in 22 countries, with an additional 400 properties in the development pipeline.
Vietnam’s tourism sector is a key driver of the expansion. The country welcomed more than 17 million international visitors in the first ten months of 2025, a 21% year‑on‑year increase, and Marriott already operates 30 hotels in Vietnam with over 50 more in the pipeline. The new property adds depth to Marriott’s presence in a rapidly growing market.
The Autograph Collection, known for locally inspired and distinctive experiences, now has a second property in Vietnam. The Legacy Mekong, Can Tho offers guests a culturally immersive stay in the Mekong Delta, complementing Marriott’s broader strategy to capture travelers seeking authentic regional experiences beyond major cities.
Integration into the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program gives the new hotel access to nearly 260 million members worldwide, strengthening customer retention and driving repeat business in a market where loyalty participation is a critical competitive advantage.
