Mattel announced on June 2, 2025, the formation of Mattel Studios, combining its film and television units under the leadership of two-time Academy Award nominee Robbie Brenner. Brenner, previously President of Mattel Films, has been elevated to President and Chief Content Officer of Mattel Studios.

This strategic restructuring aims to collaborate with leading creators to produce high-quality content based on Mattel's iconic brands, resonating in culture and appealing to global audiences. Jennifer Breslow was named Head of Television, with Darian Lanzetta and Tom McNulty appointed as Senior Executives for Film.

Mattel Studios has a robust pipeline, including the 'Masters of the Universe' live-action movie scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on June 5, 2026, and the 'Matchbox' live-action movie, which recently wrapped principal photography and is slated for Fall 2026. The studio is also premiering 14 television series and specials this year, with 12 more in production and over 30 in development, underscoring a significant expansion of Mattel's entertainment offering.
