Mercury Insurance announced on May 20, 2025, a partnership with the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS) to promote wildfire preparedness among its policyholders.
Through this collaboration, Mercury customers in wildfire-susceptible areas may qualify for a discount on the Catastrophe Fire portion of their premiums by participating in the IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home certification program.
The certification program encourages homeowners to implement meaningful improvements to harden their homes against wildfire risk, based on over 10 years of research, aiming to reduce losses and improve insurability in high-risk regions.
