Mercer International's Board of Directors recently visited the company's German plants, focusing on operational safety, sustainability, and strategic initiatives. At Mercer Timber Products (MTP) in Saalburg-Ebersdorf, the board noted six accident-free months, reflecting the success of the 'Road to Zero' safety program.

The visit to Mercer Stendal provided insights into the newly launched OPEX (Operational Excellence) program, a company-wide initiative aimed at increasing efficiency, improving resource utilization, and reducing waste. This program seeks to establish a corporate culture of personal responsibility and continuous improvement.

The board also toured the recently expanded Mercer Fiber Center, a laboratory that simulates and analyzes industrial preparation and processing of cellulose fibers. This center focuses on technical sales and application-specific customer consulting, enabling Mercer to offer added value in pulp processing and the development of customized pulp grades for future applications.
