Mercer Holz has presented its innovative e-trucks and associated charging infrastructure, part of a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport with a total of 1.03 million euros. This funding is provided under a directive promoting commercial vehicles with alternative, climate-friendly drive systems and their charging infrastructure.
The project is also supported as part of the German Recovery and Resilience Plan via the European Recovery and Resilience Facilities in the NextGenerationEU Programme. This government backing underscores the strategic importance of transitioning to zero-emission logistics.
New charging stations with up to 300 kilowatts of power are being installed at the Mercer Timber Products mill in Friesau, with commissioning expected in June. This investment promotes the efficient use of vehicles and reaffirms Mercer's long-term focus on sustainable technologies, aiming to contribute to environmental protection while increasing efficiency and competitiveness.
