Mercer International, in collaboration with Dralle, announced the official certification of its AI-powered tScale measurement portal by the PTB in Braunschweig. This certification recognizes tScale as a new, reliable volume measurement tool for the wood industry, marking it as the first system of its kind in Europe to use photo-optical means for bulk material measurement.
The tScale system utilizes 3D stereo camera technology and artificial intelligence to directly measure the volume of wood chips on trucks as they pass through the portal. This integration into existing logistics systems enables automatic, calibrated measurements, ensuring optimized transparency and greater efficiency in billing with suppliers and carriers.
Implemented at Mercer's Rosenthal facility in Germany, tScale plays a central role in automating and digitizing the raw material delivery process. The technology reduces manual processes, ensures complete traceability of measurements, and increases occupational safety, contributing to enhanced operational efficiency and reliability.
