Mistras Group, Inc. announced that it has been selected by Bechtel to provide non‑destructive testing (NDT) services for the Woodside Louisiana LNG terminal, a $17.5 billion project that will produce up to 27.6 million tonnes per annum of LNG in Sulphur, Louisiana.

The contract covers a full suite of NDT techniques—including radiography, magnetic particle testing, liquid penetrant testing, positive material identification, ultrasonic thickness testing, and leak testing—performed by Mistras’ certified technicians. The award positions Mistras as a key technical partner for one of the world’s largest LNG facilities and adds a substantial, recurring revenue stream to its portfolio, although the specific monetary value and duration of the contract have not been disclosed.

Mistras’ win aligns with its strategy to secure high‑value, long‑term service contracts in the energy sector. The company’s Q3 2025 earnings beat—$0.46 per share versus an estimate of $0.28—was driven by disciplined cost control and a favorable mix of high‑margin projects. Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Gennaro D’Alterio said the award “underscores our long‑standing expertise in supporting large‑scale energy projects” and highlights Mistras’s ability to deliver complex, multi‑disciplinary services.

Bechtel, the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the terminal, has extensive experience building LNG facilities worldwide, and its selection of Mistras signals confidence in the company’s technical capabilities. Woodside Energy’s Louisiana terminal, which received a final investment decision in April 2025, is a key component of the company’s strategy to expand its U.S. Gulf Coast LNG capacity.

The announcement was welcomed by market participants, with analysts noting the contract as a sign of Mistras’s growing presence in the LNG market and a positive indicator of the company’s execution capability in large infrastructure projects.
