McGraw Hill Inc. has named former Vimeo chief executive Philip Moyer as its new President and CEO, effective February 9 2026. Moyer joins the company after a decade of leading AI‑driven digital transformation at Vimeo and a senior role at Google, positioning him to accelerate McGraw Hill’s strategy of expanding AI‑powered learning solutions and deepening its subscription‑based revenue model.

Simon Allen, who has served as CEO since 2018, will retire on February 9 2026 and remain as Chair of the Board. Allen’s transition is designed to provide continuity; he will work closely with Moyer to ensure a smooth handover and to support the company’s ongoing strategic initiatives.

McGraw Hill has already invested more than $2 billion in technology and AI tools, a commitment that has shifted the company’s revenue mix to roughly two‑thirds digital and 60 % recurring. The investment has enabled the launch of AI‑enhanced platforms such as ALEKS and Connect, and has positioned the firm to capture higher‑margin subscription revenue in both higher‑education and K‑12 markets.

The company’s deleveraging program has reduced net leverage to 3.3×, generating significant interest‑savings and strengthening its balance sheet after the July 2025 IPO that raised capital to pay down debt. The reduced leverage and improved cash flow give McGraw Hill the financial flexibility to invest further in AI and pursue strategic acquisitions.

Under Moyer’s leadership, McGraw Hill plans to accelerate its AI initiatives, expand inclusive‑access programs that provide affordable learning solutions to underserved students, and pursue additional acquisitions to broaden its content and technology portfolio. The appointment is expected to reinforce investor confidence in the company’s long‑term growth trajectory and its ability to sustain a high‑margin, subscription‑based business model.

"I am thrilled to join McGraw Hill at such a pivotal time," Moyer said. "McGraw Hill’s trusted brand, combined with its content, data, scale and customer relationships, creates a unique opportunity to harness AI to deliver personalized learning experiences."

Simon Allen added, "Philip’s extensive experience leading AI strategy and innovation at major technology companies with a relentless customer focus makes him the right leader to write the next chapter in our iconic company’s history. I am grateful to continue serving as Chair of the Board and to support Philip in leading the industry in supporting educators and learners for many years to come."
