MSA Safety announced significant enhancements to its G1 Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) platform and introduced a new Globe G-XTREME PRO turnout gear jacket at FDIC International. The new G1 SCBA XR Edition features upgrades to the breathing air regulator and various soft goods, including straps and pouches, all of which are removable for easy cleaning.
The G1 SCBA XR Edition is designed to incorporate many elements of the upcoming 2025 NFPA standard, allowing fire departments to upgrade their equipment proactively. All enhancements to the G1 SCBA XR Edition are backwards-compatible with existing G1 SCBA units, providing flexibility for current customers.
Additionally, the new Globe G-XTREME PRO Jacket offers a unique three-panel outer shell design with a mesh feature in the liner to enhance comfort and mobility. This jacket, along with the G1 SCBA XR Edition, will be available for order starting in May and later this year, respectively, reinforcing MSA's leadership in firefighter protection.
