The Orange County Fire Authority's decision to select MSA's G1 SCBA was based on its advanced technology, connectivity features, and the ability to upgrade the apparatus with new technologies. The G1 SCBA is a central component of the MSA Connected Firefighter platform, which enhances firefighter monitoring, accountability, and communication.
Key features of the G1 SCBA include embedded technology that transmits critical data, such as cylinder air pressure and battery status, to incident commanders via MSA's FireGrid system. The system also incorporates an integrated thermal imaging camera, providing individual firefighters with vital situational awareness. Delivery of the new SCBA units is expected to be completed in 2025.
