Microsoft and Cognizant Announce Multi‑Year AI Partnership to Drive Enterprise‑Wide Adoption

Microsoft and Cognizant have entered into a multi‑year strategic partnership that will co‑innovate, co‑sell, and collaborate on large‑scale AI solutions across financial services, healthcare, retail and manufacturing. The deal positions Microsoft’s Azure AI Foundry, agentic AI, and Copilot technologies alongside Cognizant’s industry‑specific platforms—TriZetto, Skygrade and FlowSource—to deliver end‑to‑end AI capabilities that can be embedded directly into clients’ workflows.

The partnership will embed Microsoft’s Copilot suite—including Microsoft 365 Copilot and GitHub Copilot—into Cognizant’s delivery and consulting teams, accelerating the adoption of generative AI across the organization. Cognizant will also integrate its proprietary platforms with Azure, Azure AI Foundry and related services, creating a seamless AI stack that can be sold to clients as a single, integrated solution.

Microsoft’s CEO, Judson Althoff, said the collaboration will help enterprises become “AI‑powered Frontier Firms,” a concept that emphasizes responsible, large‑scale AI deployment. Althoff added that combining Microsoft’s trusted cloud and agentic AI capabilities with Cognizant’s industry expertise will unlock transformative value for joint customers worldwide. Cognizant’s CEO, Ravi Kumar S., highlighted that the partnership will enable the company to scale AI across the enterprise, co‑build scalable solutions, and partner on large deals that deliver measurable outcomes.

The deal builds on a long‑standing relationship between the two companies. Cognizant has already invested $1 billion in generative AI initiatives through 2026 and recently acquired 3Cloud, an Azure services provider, in November 2025. These moves strengthen Cognizant’s Azure footprint and position it to deliver AI‑powered services at scale. Microsoft, in turn, gains deeper access to Cognizant’s consulting network and industry expertise, expanding its reach into enterprise consulting and reinforcing its AI ecosystem.

By combining Microsoft’s AI platform with Cognizant’s industry platforms, the partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of AI at scale, reduce time‑to‑value for clients, and create new revenue streams for both companies. The collaboration is expected to strengthen Microsoft’s position as a leading AI‑enabled cloud provider while giving Cognizant a competitive edge in delivering AI‑driven solutions across key verticals.
