NANO Nuclear Energy Inc. announced on March 20, 2025, the additions of James Leybourn and Simon Boddington as Senior Nuclear Engineers to its Nuclear Technology and Engineering Team. Both Mr. Leybourn and Mr. Boddington are based in the U.K. and have joined NANO Nuclear’s U.K.-based nuclear science and engineering partner Cambridge AtomWorks. These appointments build upon the recently announced hire of Andrew Steer, Ph.D., as Head of Regulatory Engagement.
Mr. Leybourn is a Chartered Physicist with over 12 years of experience in physics and engineering within the U.K. nuclear industry, with a proven track record in thermal hydraulics, engineering design, and safety case preparation. Mr. Boddington is a reactor physicist with over 10 years of industry experience covering pressurized water reactors and molten salt reactor designs, having led the physics team that designed the MoltexFLEX and SSR-W reactor concepts.
Their addition brings extensive knowledge in molten salt reactor physics, nuclear safety cases, advanced reactor engineering, and innovative fuel system design. This expertise is essential for the ongoing development of NANO Nuclear’s proprietary 'ZEUS' and 'ODIN' microreactors, as well as the KRONOS MMR™ Energy System and the LOKI MMR™. These hires reflect NANO Nuclear's commitment to attracting top-tier talent to propel its programs forward and become a global leader in advanced nuclear energy solutions.
