NANO Nuclear Energy Inc. announced on January 28, 2025, the acquisition of additional important patents from Ultra Safe Nuclear Corp. (USNC), including Patent No. US 11,264,141 B2, titled 'Composite Moderator for Nuclear Reactor Systems.' This patent relates to the design and construction of composite moderators aimed at improving safety and waste management by addressing graphite oxidation found in conventional systems. The patented advanced design reduces waste and structural deterioration, enabling the moderator to function throughout the fuel’s lifecycle without requiring replacement in the reactor core. This intellectual property is expected to enhance the protections for NANO Nuclear’s proprietary advanced portable 'ZEUS' and 'ODIN' microreactors, as well as the KRONOS MMR™ and LOKI MMR™ reactors, all currently in development. The U.S. patent is accompanied by related patents issued in Canada, the Russian Federation, Japan, The People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, and by the European Patent Office, with an application currently in progress with the World Intellectual Property Organization. This expansion of the intellectual property portfolio is crucial for developing cleaner, more robust, and cost-effective energy systems.
