NANO Nuclear Energy Inc. announced on December 3, 2024, the signing of a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Vert2Grow Energy Solutions Inc. This collaboration aims to explore the integration of NANO Nuclear’s portable microreactor technology with Vert2Grow’s innovative vertical farming solutions, provided by Food Security Structures Canada (FSSC). The initial exploration period is set for two years.
The partnership seeks to address challenges in remote and underserved areas by delivering sustainable power and food production capabilities. By combining NANO Nuclear’s advanced reactor systems with FSSC’s controlled-environment agriculture technology, the collaboration plans to develop a framework for innovative solutions. These solutions could transform isolated communities, disaster-prone regions, and industrial sites, potentially leading to definitive agreements.
The project's scope includes developing integrated energy and food production systems, conducting feasibility studies, and designing pilot projects. The collaboration aims to scale deployment globally, with a target deployment timeline beginning in the early 2030s, assuming regulatory approvals are achieved. This initiative expands the potential applications for NANO Nuclear's microreactors beyond traditional industrial uses.
