Nextracker announced that its NX Horizon™ solar trackers will power the 550 MW “Oricheio PPC Ptolemaida” solar PV park in Western Macedonia, Greece. This project is one of Europe’s largest solar installations and the biggest in Greece, marking a significant expansion of Nextracker’s global footprint.
The project, owned by Greek PPC Renewables and constructed by Terna SA, involves repurposing a former coal mine site to generate clean, lower-cost electricity. When fully operational, it is estimated to provide nearly 1.8% of Greece’s annual electricity, contributing to Europe’s energy independence and net-zero carbon goals.
This landmark project reinforces Nextracker's position as the European market share leader, as reported by Wood Mackenzie, and its global leadership with over 130 GW of solar trackers shipped worldwide. The company has also strengthened local manufacturing partnerships in Europe to ensure timely delivery for large-scale utility projects.
