Orion S.A. announced on October 5, 2025, the appointment of Natalia Scherbakoff as the company's new Chief Technology Officer. She succeeds David Deters, who is set to retire at the end of 2024 after nearly a decade leading Orion's global innovation program.
Scherbakoff joins Orion from Trinseo, where she served as Vice President of Technology & Innovation, overseeing global research, development, and technology innovation with a focus on sustainability and circular solutions. Her experience includes supporting key growth initiatives and mergers and acquisitions.
Based at Orion’s main innovation hub in Cologne, Germany, Scherbakoff will oversee the company’s technical centers in China, South Korea, and the U.S. She will also be responsible for Orion’s €12.8 million investment, which includes €6.4 million in funding from the German government and European Union, aimed at developing a climate-neutral process for producing carbon black from alternative carbon sources.
