ONEOK, Inc., along with WhiteWater, MPLX LP, and Enbridge Inc., announced on August 25, 2025, a new natural gas pipeline project, the Eiger Express Pipeline. This pipeline will transport growing natural gas production from the Permian Basin to the Gulf Coast region.
The Eiger Express Pipeline is designed to be approximately 450 miles long with a 42-inch diameter, capable of transporting up to 2.5 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of natural gas. It will connect the Permian Basin in West Texas to the Katy area near Houston, Texas, with reserved capacity for deliveries to the Corpus Christi market.
ONEOK's total ownership interest in the pipeline is 25.5%, including its stake through the existing Matterhorn joint venture. The project is supported by firm transportation agreements with contract terms of 10 years or longer and is expected to be completed in mid-2028, pending regulatory approvals. This infrastructure is crucial for meeting increasing electricity generation and international demand for LNG exports.
