Oklo Inc. and Switch, a premier provider of AI, cloud, and enterprise data centers, announced on December 18, 2024, the signing of a non-binding Master Power Agreement. This landmark agreement aims to deploy 12 gigawatts of Oklo Aurora powerhouse projects through 2044.
This collaboration is described as one of the largest corporate clean power agreements ever signed, establishing a framework for future individual binding power purchase agreements. Under the terms, Oklo will develop, construct, and operate powerhouses across the U.S. to supply electricity to Switch's data centers.
The agreement significantly expands Oklo's customer pipeline to approximately 14.1 GW, underscoring the strong market demand for reliable, carbon-free power from energy-intensive sectors like AI data centers. Oklo anticipates its first Aurora powerhouse to be operational by 2027, with plans to build 240 reactors of 50 MW size by 2044 to meet the 12 GW deployment goal.
