Oklo Inc. announced today that it has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for the Advanced Nuclear Fuel Line Pilot Projects. The selection comes alongside three other companies and follows Oklo’s earlier involvement in the DOE’s Reactor Pilot Program. The announcement was made via a Business Wire press release dated October 2, 2025. The fuel line pilot projects are designed to accelerate permitting, construction, and operation of advanced nuclear fuel facilities, while driving private sector investment and creating a fast‑track licensing pathway. Under the program, Oklo will build and operate three fuel‑fabrication facilities that will support the deployment of its Aurora fast‑reactor powerhouses. This expands Oklo’s role in the domestic advanced nuclear fuel supply chain and provides a critical infrastructure component for its planned reactors. The selection builds on Oklo’s recent progress, including a $1.68 billion investment in a fuel‑recycling facility in Tennessee announced in September 2025 and the groundbreaking of its first Aurora powerhouse at Idaho National Laboratory on September 22, 2025. It also aligns with the DOE’s objective to ensure a robust domestic supply of advanced nuclear fuel for research, development, and demonstration projects. The move positions Oklo to capitalize on the growing demand for clean, reliable power from AI data centers and other high‑energy customers. CEO Jacob DeWitte said, “We are honored to be selected by DOE for these historic projects that will help restore America’s nuclear fuel supply chain.” He added that the fuel line pilot projects will help accelerate the deployment of Oklo’s advanced reactors and strengthen the company’s competitive position in the emerging advanced nuclear market.
