Oklo Inc. announced on August 21, 2025, that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation. Concurrently, Oklo commissioned a digital monitoring room at its headquarters in Santa Clara, California. The new monitoring room, equipped with ABB technology, will serve as Oklo’s operator training and simulation center. This facility reflects continued progress toward fleetwide deployment of Oklo’s Aurora powerhouses and supports a technology-based licensing framework. Unlike traditional nuclear control rooms, Oklo’s Aurora powerhouses are designed to rely on automation and inherent safety features, allowing personnel to act more as monitors than operators. This approach, which enables operators to monitor multiple plants from a central location, aligns with Oklo’s vision for efficient, repeatable deployment and is supported by the NRC's recent acceptance of Oklo's Licensed Operator Topical Report for review.
