Hidrogenii, the joint venture between Olin Corporation and Plug Power Inc., announced on April 17, 2025, the commissioning of its 15 metric-ton-per-day (TPD) hydrogen liquefaction plant in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. This facility is recognized as one of the largest electrolytic hydrogen liquefaction plants in North America. The newly operational plant will liquefy hydrogen produced by Olin for trailer shipments across the U.S., primarily serving Plug's material handling customers. This expansion increases Plug's total hydrogen production capacity to 40 TPD, strengthening the regional hydrogen supply chain. Ken Lane, President and CEO of Olin, noted that this joint venture aligns with Olin's value-first approach to build on existing leading positions through high-value adjacencies. The initiative leverages Olin's decades of industrial expertise and existing infrastructure to advance hydrogen production and utilization, supporting the U.S. transition to low-carbon energy.
