China's Ministry of Commerce announced on September 14, 2025, the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation on imports of relevant analog integrated circuit (IC) chips originating in the U.S. This action directly targets a segment of the U.S. semiconductor industry.

The investigation specifically focuses on commodity interface IC chips and gate driver IC chips, which are product categories commonly manufactured by U.S. companies, including ON Semiconductor. This move is seen as a direct response to escalating trade tensions between the two nations.

In addition to the anti-dumping probe, China also announced a separate anti-discrimination investigation into U.S. measures against China’s chip sector. These actions could significantly impact ON Semiconductor's sales and market access in China, a crucial market for the company's products.
