Origin Materials announced a transition to a single CEO leadership structure, with Co-Founder and Co-CEO John Bissell assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer, effective December 31. Rich Riley will step down from his Co-CEO position and the Board, remaining in an advisory role through the end of 2025 to ensure a smooth transition.
The company's Chief Financial Officer, Matt Plavan, will take on the additional role of Chief Operating Officer, also effective December 31. This change is intended to enable quicker and nimbler operations as Origin Materials expands its manufacturing activities in 2025.
The Board Chair, R. Tony Tripeny, expressed excitement for John Bissell, Matt Plavan, and the leadership team to drive the company forward. The transition is positioned to support the commercialization of Origin's PET closures business and unlock shareholder value.
