Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud announced a partnership valued at nearly $10 billion that will see Palo Alto migrate key internal workloads to Google Cloud and embed Google’s Gemini AI models into its Prisma AIRS platform.

The collaboration integrates Prisma AIRS 2.0 with Google’s Vertex AI and Gemini LLMs, allowing customers to secure live AI workloads and data on Google Cloud while maintaining a unified security policy across hybrid environments. The partnership builds on a history of joint integrations and $2 billion in sales through the Google Cloud Marketplace.

Strategically, the deal positions Palo Alto as a primary security partner for enterprises accelerating AI and cloud adoption, creating a new revenue stream and reinforcing its platformization strategy. The $10 billion commitment represents a significant portion of Palo Alto’s FY2025 revenue of $2.5 billion, underscoring the scale of the partnership.

Management emphasized the importance of the deal. CEO Nikesh Arora said the agreement “represents a pivotal moment in how enterprises approach security for their cloud and AI initiatives.” President BJ Jenkins added that the partnership “removes the friction between security and development, providing a unified platform where the most advanced security is a native part of building what’s next.” Google Cloud’s chief revenue officer Matt Renner noted that the partnership “will ensure our joint customers have access to the right solutions to secure their most critical AI infrastructure and develop new AI agents with security built in from the start.”

The partnership follows Palo Alto’s recent acquisition of Chronosphere, a next‑generation observability platform, and the release of its State of Cloud report, which found that 99% of surveyed organizations experienced at least one attack on their AI infrastructure in the past year. These developments highlight the growing demand for end‑to‑end AI security solutions.

By combining Palo Alto’s AI‑security expertise with Google Cloud’s AI infrastructure, the partnership is expected to accelerate the adoption of secure AI workloads, strengthen Google Cloud’s security portfolio, and deepen the relationship between the two companies in the rapidly expanding AI‑security market.
