Allison Transmission announced that its Neutral at Stop fuel saving technology is now a standard offering on Kenworth and Peterbilt models equipped with Allison 4700 Rugged Duty Series transmissions. This integration aims to enhance the operational efficiency of PACCAR's trucks.
The Neutral at Stop feature is designed to improve fuel efficiency and reduce operating costs for commercial fleets, particularly those operating in stop-start duty cycles such as urban delivery and refuse collection. It automatically shifts the transmission to neutral when the vehicle is stopped, minimizing engine load.
This technology is part of Allison's FuelSense 2.0 package, which can achieve overall fuel savings of up to 6%. By making this a standard offering, PACCAR enhances the value proposition of its Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks, providing customers with tangible benefits in terms of lower fuel consumption and reduced operating expenses.
