Cree LED, a brand of Penguin Solutions, announced a new Level 2 (L2) fully‑assembled LED PCBA portfolio on January 13 2026. The L2 line builds on the company’s existing XLamp® and J Series platforms and will be available through its global manufacturing network.

Standard L2 PCBAs will be stocked with low or no minimum order quantities, while custom L2 products offer design flexibility and optional engineering support for high‑volume customers. The portfolio includes both standard and custom fully‑populated LED board assemblies for indoor and outdoor lighting applications.

The launch expands Cree LED’s product breadth and reinforces Penguin Solutions’ strategy to deliver integrated, high‑performance lighting components. It positions the company to capture demand from manufacturers seeking reliable, scalable LED solutions without in‑house assembly, potentially increasing sales volume and strengthening customer relationships in a competitive market.

The announcement comes amid a challenging LED market. Penguin Solutions’ Optimized LED business reported an 18% sequential revenue decline to $55 million in Q1 2026, citing weak demand in China and softness among certain U.S. OEM customers. The new L2 portfolio is a response to customer demand for integrated platforms and may help offset these headwinds.

Joe Clark, president of Cree LED, said the company is hearing from top‑tier suppliers that they need a complete L2 solution. He added that the new portfolio will provide stability, certainty, and trusted support to customers, underscoring the company’s confidence in its reliability expertise and global manufacturing depth.
