On Monday, October 27, 2025, PepsiCo, in partnership with the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), announced the release of Climate Resilience Platform 2.0 (CRP 2.0). The open‑access, open‑source platform builds on the 2023 version and translates climate research into actionable insights for agricultural stakeholders, enabling them to anticipate yield risks and implement targeted interventions.

CRP 2.0 adds new capabilities and broader accessibility, and it was highlighted by Fast Company as one of the “Next Big Things in Tech.” The platform’s open‑source nature removes the proprietary barriers that have historically limited collaboration, and the September 2025 release of CRP 2.0 introduced enhanced modeling tools and a user‑friendly interface for farmers and supply‑chain partners.

The update coincides with the onboarding of Olam Agri and Bonsucro, two global leaders in agriculture and sustainable sugarcane, respectively. Olam Agri will extend CRP coverage to rice and cotton across key origins, while Bonsucro will integrate the platform into its sustainability framework. Both organizations contribute funding and data through the ISEAL Innovation Fund and the Bonsucro Impact Fund, and PepsiCo’s Vice President of Sustainable and Regenerative Agriculture, Margaret Henry, noted that the partnership “democratizes access to climate resilience tools like CRP.2.0.”

By expanding the platform’s reach and making it freely available, PepsiCo strengthens its regenerative agriculture strategy and enhances the resilience of its global supply chain. The initiative aligns with the company’s broader focus on sustainable sourcing and positions PepsiCo to better manage climate‑related risks that could impact crop yields and ingredient costs, thereby supporting long‑term value creation for shareholders.
